Pellets are sanitized by wrapping them (while wearing gloves!) in aluminum foil and heating them in the oven at 325F for forty minutes. Here's the link I used that has information on sanitizing owl pellets for when you do come across an owl pellet that you might want to collect: http://www.nature-track.com/Howtosanitizeowlpellets.html

Best,
LisaLisa Buckleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05999611419393598550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1545708523638136271.post-12048310756006159362016-11-14T18:44:38.695-08:002016-11-14T18:44:38.695-08:00Hi there, sorry don't know your name. I haven't come across any Owl pellets yet. I am also a big fan of scats and have been able to identify Wombat, Echidna, Wallaby, Kangaroo , Koala and Fox scats on my daily walks.(aided by pictures in my trusty scat book of course) Unfortunately my wife doesn't share my interest and of me sending her photos of my finds. How do you sanatize the pellets? Keep up the good work, wish i had a neighbour like you.
